Gauteng Chapter News (May 2010)

And we did it again!! On Saturday 22nd May we had our second educational program for 2010. Once again it was held at the offices of Kimberley Clark. The theme for the day was “Stop the Bug”. We counted 110 delegates about 10 members from the trade, speakers, and Board members.

Topics discussed included such items as ‘Best care always”, Tracking and Validation of instruments, waste management, ventilation and The Eye of the autoclave. We introduced a new concept of registration, evalution of the program, and at the same time gathering lots of information from our delegates, by completing one form. The process was smooth and without problems.

Some delegates travelled from as far as Polokwane, and as always we welcomed them and all the others that were up at the crack of dawn to support us, but not only did they get up early, they lived the SATS statement of “The Optimal sharing of Knowledge”. Delegates were encouraged to dress up in support of the World cup and made a pretty picture in there T-shirts.

Lunch was sponsored by Medhold and tea by Kimberley Clark. Once again B. Braun was there, Cosair, Clinix and Stryker We could not have done it with out you! The day was successful because of your participation. We salute you.

The President shared some feedback with members on the 2011 Conference. The dates were set for 10-14 May 2011 in Bloemfontein, the theme “A legacy of Excellence. More info will come your way soon. If you would like to present a paper at this prestigious event contact us now! Marilyn De Meyer or myself, Villi Pieterse. Send an abstract of about 200 words with all the relevant contact information and you will be hearing from us!!

It was most encouraging to see the Gauteng Chapters name alongside many others on the billboard of the ‘Best Care always” program. This is certainly something worth investing in. More info on this is available from Marilyn or me.

Our next educational day will be on the 21st August 2010. Don’t miss this! If you want to stay on the right side of the law!!

Last but not least our condolences go to Maureen Wood who lost her mother. You are in our thoughts!

Thanks to you, and you, for being there on the 22nd, for supporting us, and giving of your precious time. You are "Simply the Best".
