Membership
Ordinary membership of SATS is open to all nursing staff registered with the South
African Nursing Council (SANC), those actively involved in peri-operative nursing
and holders of a Diploma in Operating Theatre Nursing Science. In addition, personnel
involved in central sterilisation departments, cardiac catheterisation laboratories
as well as members of relevant medically affiliated companies. Associate membership
is open to those members of the profession who are enrolled with the SANC or who
are registered with the SANC but are no longer actively involved in peri-operative
nursing.
